The Last Dance - Ronaldo & Messi

Image
Human existence on the earth is about 300,000 years old. What are the odds of being alive at the exact moment when two of football’s greatest icons shared the same stage? Statistically, the answer is astonishingly small—around 0.0066% . To put that into perspective, it is almost identical to the lifetime probability of being struck by lightning, estimated at 1 in 15,300 (0.0065%). It is also rarer than correctly guessing a random four-digit PIN on the very first attempt, an event with odds of 1 in 10,000 (0.01%). Across thousands of years of human history, the timelines of billions of lives have come and gone, yet ours happened to align perfectly with the extraordinary overlap of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi . And as if one lightning strike of fortune was not enough, football fans were gifted two in 2006 - the year both legends began shaping an era that would redefine the sport forever. The World Cup 2006 was my first ever world cup which I watched properly. Life was far simpl...

If PSL Teams were University Students

Image
“If PSL Teams were University Students…” Islamabad United: The funniest guy in the class living in the posh area of the town. Bunks quite a few classes, and goes on to trips throughout the semester. Everyone wants to be in his company. Has the habit to make easy tests look difficult and tough tests look easy though. The guy relies more on concepts than ‘RATTAA’. Studies only the nights before final exam and beats the nerds when it matters. Multan Sultans: “Theetta” of the class. Never ever misses the class. Guy goes to class an hour before the time. He cleans the chair and dice of teacher before the teacher arrives. Studies day and night from the first day of semester and tops all the quizzes and assignments. Never goes to any trip or outings. His father is a weird actor in disguise on camera. His grand-dad is the intimidating person who threatens to beat the hell out of every other kid who happens to stroll past his huge farm house The, “Theettaa” kid panics in final exams...

Women's Day - Tribute

"Resilience", (noun), "the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties" is the most commonly known word. Many literature experts come up with different examples and illustrations to explain the meaning, but let's explore the new dimension of it. The first important word in the definition of resilience is "Capacity". Well, there is a divine body, who had twin kids. She would keep one of them in her sacred vast lap, and the other in the safest place of this world, yes in her shelter-like arms. And if one of the kids would make her life difficult with endless cries and shrieks, she would swap their positions and the cycle would go on till both are asleep. But this would not mean the start of the rest period of her, the sheer willpower would push her on to sew the clothes in an icy cold night. While doing so, an affectionate pair of an eye from corners would keep a check on both of them to see if any were feeling discomfort. Then, out of her unlimited ...

Reunion after 24 Years - Australia tour to Pakistan

Image
24 years ago, some of us were not alive, fair share were in wombs and quite a few were toddlers and crying maniacally in laps of mothers. Life was simple and natural then : Social Media did not exist, mobile phone was not a thing in this part of world, and the houses having a TV were considered to be the landlords of region. Our Nation in natural spirits was booming in 90's, be it the music, be it the Sports, and even the economy was on surge. "Cricket" has continued to ran in veins of this country so much so that my mother would wake up or even some times would stay woke late in night at 3 a.m just to listen the radio commentary of matches being played in Australian continent.  Synchronized with bloom of sports here, Cricket was also reaching new heights in Australia in 90's. Uplifted by their first world cup trophy in 1987, Kangaroos molded into 'unbeatable beasts' stuffed by giant warriors in form of Waugh brothers, Warne, Healy and co. Aussies team a gal...

My Love Story - Blog

Image
More than a decade ago, a rather young and vibrant soul of mine in –teen years took a twist. In words of Rumi, “No, I’m not roaming aimlessly around the streets and bazaar. I’m a lover, searching for his beloved”. For the first time in my life, I were to travel to Lahore – a “crush” city for millions of us living hundreds of miles away from it. With unprecedented butterflies in my stomach, I set off towards, well dare I say, towards the “would-be, love of my life.” Just as we approached the marvel city, a unique giddy feeling started to creep in. At the moment, I brushed it off by thinking it was merely an excitement of finally getting to see Lahore. But it was more than that. I entered into this holy grail to never get out of it ever again. Coincidentally, the famous old cliché “Jinnay Lahore naii vykhyaa, o jammiyaa e naii” was over too. But “never knew that it could mean so much”. Awestruck by aura, my heart was slowly and silently leaving its place - By the pull of something unknow...

UET Memories - Poem

Image
Let us pause the passing seconds... Let us merge the contrasting emotions.. Sense of victory, yet feeling lost.. We've won but at what cost... Divided by destiny, like departing routes.. United by hearts, like library roundabout.. Divided by cities, the wandering souls.. Gelled by thoughts, the glittering golds... Cramming the syllabus, craving for tour... Worth the fuss, the exams' fever.. The sleepy days, the waking nights.. There's nothing like the hostel sights.. Don't cry because its descending over.. Let's smile, because it happened, forever..

A "Mother's love" Poem

Image
To Angels there, the pure epitome of love For the children, no one can be above.. Time flies, you see it by clock's gaze? Do it by seeing wrinkles on her face.. Wanted to know what motivation truly feels like? See mother's smile when she delivers baby alike.. You want to see how justice looks like? See mom sharing her love to all alike Which is the brightest ray of light you've seen? Well, look deeply in eyes of home's queen.. What's the best scent you've smelled in life? It's off back of her scarf, ever alive... What is "next to pain"? How does it feel? When mom had accident, I could hardly deal.. What is True love? Answer is quite deep Mom coming to bed to see you sleep You know what's the biggest loss of life? Ask the person whose mother is not alive A life-long lesson, right, are you curious? Be like her, a reason for everyone's happiness. .
